
GDYNIA MODERNISM ROUTE
The aim of this project is to promote Gdynia’s modernistic style, emphasise city’s architecture as “unique and attractive”, at the same time making city’s cultural and weekend tourism offer more competitive. The project will also perform an educational, instructive role throughout the influence on social awareness focusing on the outstanding achievements of architecture of the interwar period in Poland. Gdynia – often called the „white city”, owes to a great extent its prewar legend to the amazing, cohesive modern architecture – built-up city centre. Buildings, designed and constructed by outstanding polish architects of the interwar period, create a unique complex in comparison to the rest of Europe, whose values allow to design a brand cultural product of city tourism.
Gdynia Development Agency together with a team of consultants and outside experts, has began to work on the development of a brand product “Gdynia’s Modernism Route - via modernism in Gdynia”
ACTIVITIES CONCERNING THE PROJECT :
- Developing the concept of a brand product (analysis of potential, market segmentation, concept of the brand, positioning, package offers’ concept, cohesive product identification system) together with the introduction plan
- Commencement of the functioning of product’s tourist-educational (professional) platform (in cooperation with distinguished specialists in the range of Gdynia’s, Poland’s and Europe’s modernism issues)
- Composing the promotion and marketing concept for the product - the route
- Developing the event’s concept - promoting events aimed at town-dwellers and tourists, including non-professionals
- Product promotion on polish and foreign markets, including the establishment of cooperation with tour operators specializing in city’s cultural tourism
- Creating tools for product’s marketing, including hyperlinks and information leaflets
- Active cooperation with local environment - including City’s Monument’s restorer, The Enthusiasts of Gdynia Association, The Museum of Gdynia
- Cooperation with regional, polish and foreign environments - enthusiasts of modern architecture
