
Culinary Route is an idea promoting the sightseeing of the city in conjunction with the possibility to enjoy its rich culinary offer. The project involves actions promoting Gdynia’s restaurants and their offers, but also aims at gathering and stimulating the owners of the restaurants to help them cooperate with each other. The goal of the route is to bring closer the history of Gdynia’s cuisine and at the same time attract the attention of town-dwellers and tourists to the numerous restaurant offers.
City’s vast and attractive culinary offer is one of the basic conditions when building a strong, brand product for Gdynia city’s tourism. The restaurants are an incredibly important part of city’s integrated offer, which has a very strong impact on competitive business and tourist destination’s image.

HOW DO WE ACHIVE THIS?
- Creation and development of the “Culinary Route” website and other initiatives of “Culinary Gdynia” - website of the route already in use
- Composing and developing calendars of promotion and events, which refer to the route - first concepts of the events promoting the route have been already composed
- Gathering an operational team responsible for introducing chosen ideas and concepts
- Creation and introduction of culinary workshops – the first concepts have already been composed
- Signing the route - the first stage of signing has already been accomplished
- Distribution of leaflets about the culinary route (hotels, location of events, city’s information centre) - leaflets have already been printed and are currently being distributed
- Current analysis of Gdynia’s culinary potential - cooperation with the owners of the restaurants
- Informing the media about the route and its purpose
HISTORY OF THE PROJECT:
- 2008 III - IV quarter - composing the concepts, the logo, the visual identification system, and presenting the project to the owners of the restaurants (realisation PART S.A. Warsaw)
- 2009 II quarter - updating the information database, and the instruments of promotion, signing the route, production of leaflets and their distribution, designing and launching the website (Gdynia Development Agency)
- 2009 III - IV quarter - promotion of the route, including the preparation and organisation of events and workshops promoting the culinary route (Gdynia Development Agency)
- 2-4th October 2009 - I CULINARY WEEKEND in the centre of Gdynia, together with the restaurants on the route - see the report from the Culinary Weekend
